Using Janes map you can search across a number of geospatial layers, subject to your subscription access.

Events
The events contained in the Events layer include terrorism and counter terrorism events, and state and civil events that impact risk or security.
Events data can be presented as points or as heatmaps.

Bases
The military bases layer contains thousands of locations verified by Janes using satellite imagery. Military layers include military airfields, naval facilities and garrisons for land forces. All locations are monitored on a rotating basis for accuracy, with changes in site or facility status updated accordingly.
ORBAT information is available with links to equipment profiles dependent on subscription access.

Air Defence
The air defence layers contain thousands of locations verified by Janes using satellite imagery. Within the air defence layers, individual system components are identified, including associated radar systems and launch vehicles. All locations are monitored on a rotating basis for accuracy, with changes in site or facility updated accordingly.

Nuclear Sites
The nuclear layer provides a comprehensive geospatial listing of nuclear fuel-cycle related sites. It combines information on IAEA-declared civilian nuclear facilities – including power reactors and fuel-cycle related activities – with information on undeclared nuclear facilities for countries across the world.

Syria and Iraq Conflict Monitor
Subject to your subscription Syria and Iraq Conflict Monitor delivers geospatial data which maps the progression of the conflict in Syria and Iraq in unprecedented detail.
High resolution interactive control maps for Syria and Iraq.

By including additional layers you can identify events associated with specific Iraqi or Syrian towns and villages, industrial assets, strategic points or border crossings. These events often provide an indication of control change.
News
Depending on your subscription access, news and analysis from leading Janes publications including Defence Weekly, International Defence Review can be viewed as a geospatial layer.
Satellite Imagery
Janes satellite imagery analysis delivers immediate, reliable insight into global security factors, providing validatory and supplemental support. It enables analysts to focus their effort on fewer, more important areas of interest while maintaining sight of wider security risk factors.
